地名由来[edit]

1998至1999年改设村民委员会时，由泰美镇政府命名并报博罗县政府批准；因村委会驻地在新塘，所以叫新塘村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归博罗县苏州巡司署；民国时期属四区八保；新中国成立后属二区泰美乡，1956年并入楼下乡。1958年起属泰美人民公社良田大队，1975年6月单立为新塘大队。到1983年11月为新塘乡，1986年1月改为新塘村管理区，1998年起为新塘村民委员会。[1]
