新塘村隶属五华县梅林镇（梅州市），位于镇境中部。据博雅地名网，村内设20个村民小组，登记328户、1641人，面积6平方千米，耕地855亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋氏始祖到此开基时，在村旁挖了一口池塘，村因此得名。[1]
新塘一带在1949年设新塘乡，1958年起改设大队；乡政府之称见于1983年，1989年又改称管理区，直到1999年才定为新塘村民委员会。[2]
经济与荣誉[edit]
- 2026年3月，获认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
