新塘村是茂名市高州市宝光街道所辖的行政村。据地名资料，村里原有一口池塘，后经村民重修，改称新塘，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年，新塘与广潭、下汉曾合编为十三区，属顿梭公社；1962年体制下放后成立新塘大队。1983年起称新塘乡，1986年起为管理区，1999年起设新塘村民委员会。[1]
2021年12月，村获“2021年广东省卫生村”称号；2019年9月，在广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单上。[1]
