地名由来[edit]
明末立村时叫淡塘园；村内有几座景色不错、不算高的小山丘，当地人称山岭子，清代改称岭子头。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归博罗县苏州巡司署；民国时期属四区八保；新中国成立后属二区泰美乡，1956年11月并入楼下乡。1958年1月为泰美人民公社岭子头大队，到1983年11月称岭子乡，1986年1月改为岭子头村管理区，到1999年3月起为岭子头村民委员会。[1]
