历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期属吴川县第七区，1952年叫山塘乡；1958年龙头划入湛江市郊区，改设山塘大队，隶龙头公社[1]。1983年山塘、绿水两个大队合并为绿水乡；1996年6月山塘重新分出，设山塘管理区，1999年成立山塘村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
荣誉[edit]
山塘村于2019年9月名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位[1]。
