地名由来[edit]
宋代有车氏先祖在此立居，村中没有杂姓，所以叫车村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归博罗县苏州巡司署；民国时期属四区七保；新中国成立后属二区泰美乡，1956年11月并入楼下乡。1958年1月为泰美人民公社车盘大队，1978年单立为车村大队。到1983年11月为车村乡，1986年1月改为车村管理区，到1999年3月起为车村村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
车氏宗祠始建于明嘉靖年间，相传由车村车氏十三世、曾任御史的车邦佑建造；后遭火灾毁坏（时在清康熙年间），到乾隆元年（1736年）重建，增置中心楼。[2]祠宽20.2米、进深39.1米，建筑面积889平方米，分两进院落，后进地势较前进高；过殿和正殿的柱、栏杆多用红砂岩，祠内存有明代铁香炉一只。1985年被博罗县人民政府公布为文物保护单位。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2021年9月，车村入选第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为柠檬；2023年11月入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年4月又进入广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村创建名单。[1]
