Welcome to Xiangcun Baike ("this site"). By using this site you agree to these terms. The Chinese version of these terms prevails.

1. Accounts

Register with an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Your display name is shown publicly beside each of your edits; do not use someone else's name or an inappropriate one.

2. What you contribute

Text you write or change on this site is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). By submitting it you agree to publish it under that license and confirm that you may: it is your own work, or comes from a source compatible with that license. Under it, others may copy, adapt and republish your contributions with attribution and under the same license.

Surnames you add and villages you place are factual data and are published under the same license.

3. What is not allowed

You may not publish: anything unlawful; anything infringing others' copyright, reputation, privacy or other rights; other people's personal information; advertising or promotion; obscene, violent, insulting, defamatory or discriminatory content; deliberately false information.

4. Review and moderation

Edits to articles are published after review. Reviewers and administrators may decline, change or remove any content, roll back surname and village changes, and suspend or ban accounts that break these terms.

5. Disclaimer

Articles are written by users and the place data comes from public sources; either may contain errors or be out of date. Content is for reference only and is not a basis for legal, administrative or other official purposes. We try to keep the site running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and are not liable for losses arising from use of its content.

6. Changes

These terms may change; the current terms are always on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the changed terms.
