地名由来[edit]
建村时，村旁山岭土地瘠薄，泥土带朱红偏暗的颜色，因而叫赤岭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归博罗县苏州巡司署；民国时期属四区四保；新中国成立后属二区泰美乡，1956年11月并入芹塘乡。1958年1月设松柏塱大队，隶属泰美人民公社，1966年12月改称赤岭大队。到1983年11月为赤岭乡，1986年1月改为赤岭村管理区，到1999年3月起为赤岭村民委员会。[1]
