大塘村在开平市大沙镇的东南部，村委会靠县道，距镇政府6公里，下设8个村民小组。[1]辖区的自然村里，大塘村规模较大，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代时归恩平县静德都，民国年间划入恩平县六区，1949年后改隶恩平县鹤洲乡。[1]1961年起成为开平县大沙公社辖下的大塘大队；1984年改设大塘乡人民政府，1987年称大塘管理区，1999年定名大塘村民委员会。[1]2004年底，榕树村的村委会并入，名称不变。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网所录村情记人口2259人、562户，耕地2020亩，党员75人，未注明统计年份。[1]2024年的水库移民美丽家园项目申报报告把大塘村、东成村两个自然村列入建设范围。[2]
