历史沿革[edit]
清代这里属恩平县长居都，民国年间和新中国成立初期都划入恩平县第七区。[1]1963年起成为开平县大沙公社辖下的西湾大队；1984年改设西湾乡人民政府，1987年称西湾管理区，1999年起为西湾村民委员会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
17个村民小组的名称有湾田、潭村、头村、牛湾、新村、横坑、李坑、黄淡水、大岭头、高田、西水、茶坑、虾山、米田、龙岗、急水田和东成等。[1]博雅地名网所录村情记总人口约3000人、589户，耕地合计1401亩（旱地400亩，水田1001亩），村情未注明统计年份。[1]
2019年9月，西湾村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年8月，入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为茶叶。[1]
