历史沿革[edit]
石南的前身是几个乡与大队：早期先后隶大塘乡（1950至1954年）和东边岭乡（1955至1959年），1960年大塘、东边岭、南圩、西村分设大队，1965年大塘、东边岭、南圩三队合为南圩大队。其办公点1975年至1980年间一度设在荔枝坑，1981年回到南圩。1983年起称石南乡，1987年称管理区，1999年定为村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
全村有村民6164人，其中党员93人；辖区面积12.03平方千米，有耕地4924亩，经济作物有荔枝、甘蔗和速生丰产林。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年9月被认定为「2022年湛江市文明村」和「2022年湛江市先进文明村」；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
