大塘村是广东省茂名市信宜市白石镇下辖的行政村，位于白石镇中心。据博雅地名网所载，全村设27个村民小组，在册914户、3564人，总面积6.9平方千米，耕地1314.3亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名来历：村里原有一口大鱼塘，后来刘姓人迁来，在塘边建屋定居，取名大塘。[1]
村级建置的演变如下：民国年间归入白石上乡第五堡；建国之前先有大塘生产队。1983年时，改设大塘乡政府。到1987年时，称大塘村民委员会。接着在1989年，成立管理区办事处。最终在1999年，复称村民委员会至今。[1]
