五村在开平市大沙镇的东部，村委会距镇政府约2公里，由五个自然村组成，故以「五村」为名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代时归开平县长静都，民国年间划入开平县第二区鹤洲乡，1949年后改隶恩平县鹤洲乡。[1]1958年归开恩县大沙公社，1961年起属开平县大沙公社；1981年称五村大队，1984年改设五村乡人民政府，1987年称五村管理区。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
五个村民小组是大水岭村、山下村、尖峰坑村、六圩村和新沃江村。[1]博雅地名网所录村情记总人口约1700人、380户，耕地合计1940亩（旱地1000亩，水田940亩），未注明统计年份。[1]
广东省乡村振兴局在2022年1月把五村列入2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位；2026年1月，五村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]在2024年的水库移民美丽家园项目申报中，五村的新沃江村、六圩村被列入建设范围。[2]
