新村是新会区三江镇的行政村，2020年6月自原新谢村分出设立[1]。村由李姓先祖从附近谷坑迁来建立，因是新建之村而得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

明万历年间（1573年至1619年），李姓先祖从附近谷坑来此立村，定名「新村」[1]。

新中国成立后，新村长期隶属洋美乡（管理区、大队）和八堡乡；1959年曾单设新村大队，1973年与谢禾合并成新谢大队，后改称新谢乡、新谢村委会，1988年两村分开，各设管理区[1]。
