新村社区在深圳市罗湖区翠竹街道，是由深圳水库移民村发展出来的社区，东面是泰宁花园，南到爱国路，西靠翠竹公园。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
深圳水库于1959年动工，库区内的黎围、草堂围、香园仔、大埔围四个村，以及大径的七户、大望的一户，在当年10月前后迁出，合并建成移民村，名为水库新村。据博雅地名网，村民来自20个姓氏（郑、黄、林、张、邱、何、李居多），约1800人，全是汉族，通行客家话。[1]社区即取水库新村的「新村」二字为名，2002年3月成立社区居委会。[1]
