新村位于广东省惠州市博罗县园洲镇，是该镇下辖的行政村。元朝年间（据博雅地名网为1325年），徐氏兄弟从增城萝岗迁到沥东的牙岗；1898年，其中一人从牙岗迁到此处占地立村，立号新村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新村历来在博罗县境内。1949年12月起属九潭乡；1952年7月划入第十一区铁场区公所；1958年10月并入赤沥大队，归长宁人民公社；1959年8月转属铁场人民公社。1978年5月九潭片另设九潭人民公社，新村从赤沥大队分出；1983年11月设新村乡，1986年1月改设管理区；1999年4月曾划归义合村民委员会管辖；2003年12月九潭镇并入园洲镇，名称为园洲镇新村村民委员会。[2][3]
