历史沿革[edit]
据《新会乡土志》，宋末建安郡公必迎之子良韶于元皇庆年间迁居三江的蛇尾山；其孙中明分居此地，初名「恒美坊」[1]。1951年，由恒美坊、新田、中山、东头、谷坑、沙坪六个里合成新江乡；其后先并入三江大乡，1958年改为新江管理区[1]。
经济[edit]
村里耕地1515亩，种香蕉850亩，鱼塘2000多亩[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
建安郡王祠在村内烂面虎小山南麓，是新江、联和等村赵氏纪念始祖的祠堂，为新会区重点文物保护单位，也在区里公布的9处「祠堂文化示范工程」古祠之列[1]。思仁公园位于村的中心点，在山上[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月，广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予新江村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。
