大塘村是龙母镇下辖的行政村。新中国成立前，本地多处有大塘，此村的地形像一口塘，只有一个出口，因而得名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前至1958年冬，大塘属龙母乡；1958年后为龙母公社的大塘大队，1983至1986年改为区公所下的大塘乡。1987年设村委会，1991年改称镇属管理区，1999年重设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，大塘村列入「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年创建单位名单。[1]
