历史沿革[edit]

新塘大队于1958年公社化时划归砂田公社；其后的管理区时期始于1987年改镇之际；村民委员会则是1999年春设立的[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

村情材料记载，在册109户、590人，总面积6.6平方千米，耕地约430亩；农户靠水稻、生猪、毛竹和外出打工谋生，村集体靠出租土地取得收入；上一年农村经济总收入203万元[1]。

2019年9月，新塘村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之中。[1]。
