南坑村属梅州市丰顺县砂田镇，是一个行政村，在镇域南部，辖8个村民小组[1]。
名称由来[edit]
村委会在砂田镇以南，旁有一条山坑，故称南坑[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
民国年间，这一带属丰顺县第五区砂田乡；建国之初归砂胜乡，之后转入潭江区；1961年公社化时隶属砂田公社南洋大队；1987年改镇时才独立设管理区；1999年春建制为南坑村村民委员会[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
村情材料记载，在册108户、537人，总面积8.3平方千米，耕地约220亩；农户靠水稻、生猪和外出打工谋生，村集体靠出租土地取得收入和陶瓷厂上交款；上一年农村经济总收入227万元[1]。
其他[edit]
2019年9月，南坑村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」之中。[1]。
