大塘村距黎少镇政府约4.5公里，村名沿用了最初建村时的地名，那里原是大片低洼积水成塘的荒地。[2][4]

村里以荔枝产业为牵引，并种植南药牛大力，2024年被列为广东省培育典型村。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

1816年，潘、陈两姓始祖迁到这里定居，形成村中最早的村落；1837年，李氏始祖晋达公从肇庆市广利三合村迁来，此后梁、陈、李等姓陆续迁入。[3]

1958年，大塘成为黎少公社的大塘生产大队。1983年改设大塘乡，归黎少区；1986年改为村委会，1989年改设管理区，1999年重新称村委会。[3]

经济[edit]

村里在“1+12”荔枝产业园的带动下发展荔枝种植，培育桂味、糯米糍、圣糯等品种；另建有牛大力南药扶贫产业基地。[4]2022年10月，省农业农村厅认定村子为「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产品为油茶。[1]

2019年10月，大塘村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]2026年1月，获评「第二批广东省百千万工程典型村」。[1]
