大塘村是油溪镇下辖的行政村，村名因村口有一口大鱼塘而来。村中出过吴泓生、马大农两位近代人物。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

早年李、吴、肖、刘、黄等姓的先人先后迁居此地，在油溪镇东北面定居。村口有一口大鱼塘，遂取名大塘。[1]

1958年乡镇整编时，大塘并入油溪乡，成为其中的大塘大队。1983年改称大塘乡，1988年划为大塘管理区，1998年以后改设为村民委员会。[1]

2019年9月，大塘村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月，大塘村获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]

著名人物[edit]

吴泓生（1913—1976），又名连芃，与马大农（1912—1974）同为连平县油溪大塘人。[2]
