新田村是丰顺县汤坑镇所辖的行政村之一，位于汤坑镇西片[1]。村名的来历是：相传这里原是一片田地，要在田地上建新房，故称新田[2]。2004年10月撤销附城镇后改归汤坑镇管辖[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载：主村田心，后来赤草等村归入，1951年设新田乡；此后1958年起叫作汤坑公社新田大队；随后1983年起叫作汤坑区新田乡；再后来1986年起叫作附城镇新田管理区；接着1999年起叫作新田村民委员会；2004年附城镇建制撤销后，新田村民委员会划入汤坑镇。[3]

荣誉：2019年9月，新田村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年8月，列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名录（茶叶）。[1]
