历史沿革[edit]
民国时期，莲塘属石根乡。1953年另设莲塘乡，1955年入高级社，1958年冬设管理区办事处，1959年冬改称生产大队。1983年改称乡，1986年起称村民委员会，1999年定名莲塘村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村里主要种植水稻、玉米、马铃薯、蕃薯、木薯；特色收入来源有养殖三黄鸡，种植烟叶[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2023年5月，广东省爱卫会将莲塘村列入「2022年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，莲塘村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
