新田村是高州市大坡镇的行政村，原叫上心田、下心田，解放后合称新田，2021年被评为广东省卫生村。[1]
名称由来[edit]
传说黄姓人家很久以前来此定居，在荒坡上开出许多新田，因称新田。另据该页的沿革，1940年以前村分上心田、下心田，因四面环山、中间夹着一片平地而叫心田，解放后改称新田。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1957年至1959年间为新田高级社，归下垌管区；1960年起称新田大队，1983年起叫新田乡，1986年起叫农村管理区，1999年起由新田村民委员会管理。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
