新田村是东源县双江镇下辖的行政村。村名的来历与新丰江水库的建设有关：水库修建时，移民从老禾田迁到此地，改名为新田，寓意新的开始。[1]

因新丰江水库建设，移民从老禾田迁到此地，村名因此改为新田。[1]
1958年设新田大队，1983年改为新田乡，1987年改为新田管理区。1999年，县政府批准成立新田村委会，此后沿用至今。[1]
文化[edit]
2024年3月，新田村获评「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
