金溪村是丰顺县汤坑镇所辖的行政村之一，位于汤坑镇县城西北部[1]。村名的来历是：万历十三年（1586年）邱氏后人建寨于榕江北河的溪畔，寨临溪水，称金溪[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1586年（万历十三年），邱氏万二郎公的六世孙建起溪头寨，寨在榕江北河边，隶潮州府揭阳县，在蓝田都第十图；1738年丰顺立县后，划为汤坑市邱屋寨；民国年间归丰顺县第三区（汤坑区）的金权乡[3]。1950年划入金盘乡；1955年秋金丰高级农业生产合作社成立，此寨为社员之一；1958年隶汤坑公社金丰生产大队；1976年单独成立金溪大队；1977年12月时，大队包括太平楼、镇台、柑园三处。生产队建制在1984年3月取消，改设金溪管理区；1987年又改称金溪村委会。城西居委会1996年成立，柑园和镇台随之划走，剩下的原太平楼一带就是金溪村委会的范围；之后城市扩展，村内一部分土地被征用，并入城西居委会[3]。

荣誉：2019年9月，金溪村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
