西河村在汕尾市城区红草镇埔边西面约1公里，由桥头、西门、新町三个自然村组成，2009年总人口2690人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村民在康熙年间从各地迁来定居，因桥头、西山两处地名，起初叫“桥头西门”。1949年后属第五区，与三和合为西河乡，后来与三和分开，设西河大队；其管理区在1989年设立，村委会则在1999年成立。[1]
经济[edit]
以农业为主，兼有少量鱼塭养殖。桥头村种荔枝，是镇里“三高”农业的基地之一。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月获“2021年广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
