地名由来[edit]
清顺治年间（1654年至1661年），今墟北建有双峰寺，墟因此称寺前墟；村委会设在寺前墟，故名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代归登名都，民国时期属第九区沙冈乡，新中国成立后属七区，1955年属水口区。1963年属水口公社，称寺前大队。1984年改称寺前乡人民政府，1989年称寺前管理区；1993年随沙冈区另置，2005年起归水口镇管辖，村级组织自1999年起称寺前村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，寺前村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
