甘棠村是广东省茂名市信宜市北界镇南部的行政村，村名由旧称「干塘」转来；2020年以荔枝入选广东省专业村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，旧时这里难以种稻，年年干旱，田地像放干了水的池塘，叫作干塘。1958年修成尚文水库、接通水渠后，粮食产量明显提高，村人便改用「甘棠」二字，取代了原来的名称。[1]
沿革[edit]
民国年间属六城南乡第八堡，建国之初编入六问上乡，序次为第十二村。1956年同结坡并作结坡一个单位；1961年两地拆开，另立甘棠大队；1981年起设乡级政府，1987年起改设村民委员会，延续至今。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
全村分23个村民小组，在册1081户，总面积7平方公里（该站未注明年份），户数在北界镇各村中居前。主要发展林业和水果。[1]
2020年8月，甘棠村入选首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产品为荔枝；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2023年5月获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
