历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，新中国成立前属高要十区的西堡乡。1951年，其中六条村（三乡、陈村、长新乡、农会、山区、湖村）划入富佛乡，另两条仍属西堡乡；1953年这八条自然村合为八联乡，隶属高要十一区。其后依次归金利区、金星公社、蚬岗公社，1960年曾分成八联一至五大队，1963年又合并；1983年改乡，1987年设村委会，1998年定名八联村民委员会。[2]

下设10个村民小组，共1231户、3985人，耕地2440亩，其中水稻田1000亩、菜地1200亩、鱼塘240亩、旱地700亩，另有山地五千多亩（均未注明年份）。[1]
