南坑村位于大埔县大麻镇境内，属河东片，在梅州市、广东省的行政区划中是大麻镇所辖的一个村。村落沿一条自北向南的大坑展开，村南山势较高、泉眼多，因而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清嘉庆年间（1796年至1820年），何氏从弓州迁入村中。1998年改设村民委员会，此前1988年改称管理区，1986年冬设村委会，1983年12月复为南坑乡，1978年3月改隶恭洲公社，1958年人民公社化时成为大麻公社的南坑生产大队，1957年并入恭洲乡，1952年为南坑乡，1949年属麻东乡，民国三十二年（1943年）前后属大麻区恭洲乡，明代属大埔县大麻社弓洲村。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

据村情页（未注明年份），全村分30个村民小组，在册462户、1964人，耕地976亩，主要经济作物为柚子，上一年农村经济总收入1563万元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，南坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
  • 2021年12月，南坑村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
