大留村位于大埔县大麻镇境内，属河西片，在梅州市、广东省的行政区划中是大麻镇所辖的一个村。村境西、北、东三面较高，向西南倾斜，溪水绕村而过，到南面聚居地时水量丰沛；「流」与「榴」「留」同音，故名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
嘉靖三十六年（1557年）以前已形成聚落，属大麻社大榴村，乾隆初年（约1744年）同。1998年改设村民委员会，此前1988年改称管理区，1986年冬设村委会，1983年12月复为大留乡，1958年人民公社化时成为大麻公社的大留生产大队，1957年为大麻乡的大留小乡，1952年仍为大留乡，民国三十二年（1943年）前后为大麻区大留乡。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
据村情页（未注明年份），全村分15个村民小组，在册382户、1407人，耕地961亩，主要经济作物为柚子、烤烟，上一年农村经济总收入1384万元。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有三处受保护的民国建筑：怡和书室（大埔县第九批县级文物保护单位，2015年2月5日又被梅州市人民政府列入第三批市级文物保护单位）、抗建居和省斋第（均在大埔县第十批县级文物保护单位之列）。[3]
