大坑边村距河台镇11公里，是河台镇最偏远的村之一，辖5个村民小组。[1]

据博雅地名网，村人口900多人，山区较穷，主要种玉桂、松树、水稻和花生，各村民小组分散，村委会通往各小组的路尚未硬底化。2019年9月，大坑边村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前隶高要一区；1952年划归河台罗带乡，1958年划归乐城公社，名为大坑边大队，1959年划归河台公社，1983年更名称大坑边乡，1987年更名称大坑边村委会，1989年建大坑边管理区，1998年更名称大坑边村民委员会。[2]
