名称与沿革[edit]

村前的池塘出产莲藕，村名因此而来。[1]1950年代中期，莲塘先是石崖大队辖下的一个乡；1958年单独成队，一直到1983年；1984年重新设乡，1987年恢复为村，1989年行管理区制，1999年起由村委会管理。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，莲塘村进入「广东省2018年度民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
