莲塘村是雄州街道下辖的行政村，坐落在南雄市区北郊，面积约2平方千米，因村边有长满莲花的大池塘而得名。[1]全村648户、3172人，分16个村民小组，以水稻为主要作物（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1]
