新圩社区是新圩镇镇政府所在的社区，属镇中心区。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
相传约一百五十年前，这一带没有集市，居民须远赴坭陂、畲坑、水口赶圩，很不方便，于是附近的人自发在宁江岸边做起买卖，人多了、规模大了，渐成新的圩场，称为“新圩”，社区之名由此而来。[1]1958年撤新圩村，改设新圩公社；1975年公社撤销，改设居委会；1996年起称社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]
