历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，清康熙年间陈姓先祖迁来立村，取名莲塘村；此后名称几经更替，先后称大队、乡、村委会、管理区，1999年起沿用现名。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
该页所载，全村501户、2728人，耕地400亩，山地1000亩。[1]过去靠农业和林业谋生，出产水稻、马铃薯、甘蔗、蔬菜以及橄榄、杨梅、柿子、芒果；改革开放后，村民多外出打工，村里的耳机加工、文胸服装加工等家庭作坊逐渐增多。[1]2023年5月，莲塘村获广东省爱卫会授予「广东省卫生村」称号（2022年度）。[1]
