莲塘村是广东省惠州市博罗县湖镇镇下辖的行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传宋初胡姓从江西迁来定居，之后林、黄、陈、曾、同、赖等姓相继迁入。村前原有一口小塘，塘里满是莲花，村名取自于此。地名资料还收有一副描写村景的对联：「莲长玉湖湖上花开映古月，塘浮金屋屋中人晏居新村」。[1]

民国属八德乡，中华人民共和国成立后属湖镇乡；1958年10月成立莲塘生产队，归湖镇公社；1983年11月称莲塘村，属湖镇区；1986年1月为莲塘管理区；1999年起称莲塘村民委员会。2019年9月，莲塘村名列「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
