新田镇是广东省河源市龙川县下辖的镇，位于县境东北部，东江流经镇内。全镇面积71.3平方千米，下辖1个社区和6个行政村。[1][3]

镇名取“新开辟的田地”之义。这一带旧属黎咀区，1957年设新田乡，1993年撤乡设镇。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，此地称“新田约”。民国时划归黎咀区；1949年则属龙川第九区（赤光）。[1]

1957年，区制取消，此地改设新田乡。1958年起它归赤光公社管辖；1962年自赤光公社分出，单设新田公社。1983年撤社改区，1986年改称乡，1993年撤乡，设为新田镇。[1]

人口[edit]

博雅地名网引第七次全国人口普查结果，全镇人口为7600人。该网站概况页另称全镇总人口1.6万多人，维基百科作1.6万人，两者均未注明年份，与前一数字相差一倍有余。[1][2][3]

经济[edit]

2025年上半年，镇党委推动“一镇一园”茶叶园建设，全镇茶园约3818亩，年产茶超过25万斤，产值逾4000万元，带动1500余人次就业。[4]

托里茶的历史已有二百余年，与新红1号等产品一并被评为“龙川十大好茶”。[4]

除茶叶外，镇内的苦笋、灵芝、米酒和蜂蜜也是各村的特色产品，其中苦笋正由双柳村谋划开发。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内的主要景点是祥云岩寺。寺处于一个风景区中，该风景区在新墟西北面，总面积约16.3平方千米，区内有百余种亚热带植物。维基百科称祥云岩寺是本镇的主要旅游景点。[2][3]

寺庙建于清嘉庆二十三年，由牧原和尚何南风开基，寺名取自山顶时常出现的五色彩云。[2]

风景区内还有观音小憩、仙女晒布石、仙履等传说中的景点，岩洞中有十八罗汉等塑像。[2]
