新坪村原属宋声镇，2004年起归水口镇。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

它是从坪畲村迁出新建的村寨，沿用「坪畲」的「坪」字，叫新坪。[1]原名「坪畲外山」，成立益新、新东两个社（1956年），后合并为新坪社；改称新坪村委会（1999年），宋声镇撤销（2004年11月），归水口镇。[1]
