光夏村隶属水口镇。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
此地原叫柏树村，又称中堡；新中国成立后，用革命烈士刘光夏的名字改称光夏。兴梅专署在1952年7月18日决定，以烈士家乡之名设夏光乡。[1]自1961年起称光夏大队，此后依次为夏光村委会（1987年）、夏光管理区（1993年），定名光夏村委会（1999年）。[1]
荣誉[edit]
光夏村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布），并于2026年3月成为第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
