群兴村原属下堡镇，2004年起归水口镇，属镇乡结合区。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
新中国成立前叫下林，办农业社后改称群兴（1956年）。与先锋合并（1961年），各取一字，称兴锋大队；1979至1983年两队分开，又合在下堡区（1983年10月），称兴锋乡；撤区设乡（1987年3月），分别设群兴村委会。起属下堡镇（1993年10月），称管理区，改称群兴村委会（1999年）。下堡镇撤销（2004年11月），群兴村归水口镇。[1]
