达新村隶属水口镇，属镇乡结合区。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。^[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

「达庄」「星球」两个农业社合并时，各取一字成「达星」，后来「星」改写成同音的「新」，才有今名。^[1]新中国成立后到1958年，它与荷树等地合为一个行政单位；1958年独立，设达新大队，为达新乡（1984年），称管理区（1989年），改称村委会（1999年）。^[1]

达新村在2017年10月被广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予第一批广东省卫生村称号。^[1]
