坪畲村原属宋声镇，2004年起归水口镇。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。^[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

相传这里曾住过畲姓人，村名来由于此。^[1]旧名坪畲山；合作化时分设大新、新群两社，大新大队（1958年）之名沿用到1981年地名普查，那时因重名者多，才恢复旧称。宋声镇撤销（2004年11月），归水口镇。^[1]

坪畲村以优质稻为主打，进入省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2019年9月，它还列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。^[1]
