河口村原属下堡镇，2004年起归水口镇。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
宋声河在村境内汇入韩江，河口之名由此而来。[1]1950年并入光夏，叫红光村（1956年），公社化时并入光夏大队；同光夏分开（1961年），与黎光合为河口大队，其后几度分合，与黎光分开（1987年），设河口村委会，称管理区（1993年），再称河口村委会（1999年）。下堡镇撤销（2004年11月），河口村改由水口镇管辖。[1]
荣誉[edit]
河口村的荣誉有：首批广东省卫生村（2017年10月）、2018年民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位（2019年9月）、2024年1月确定的2023年度省民主法治示范村（社区），以及第二批「百千万工程」典型村（2026年1月）。[1]
