布头村原属下堡镇，2004年起归水口镇，位于镇中心区。它在梅州市兴宁市境内，名称与沿革见下文。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
新中国成立前，这里叫「铺头垻」：村道两侧有店铺，又有较多坝地。「布」与「铺」同音，后来写成布头。[1]1961年下堡从水口分出时，称布头大队；为布头乡（1983年），称村委会（1987年），称管理区（1993年），又改称布头村委会（1999年）。下堡镇撤销（2004年11月），布头村归水口镇。[1]
荣誉[edit]
布头村名列2019年9月公布的2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
