新田村是甘棠乡下辖的行政村，位于乡境北部，距乡政府驻地约7公里。村域内有天湖顶湿地、竹林与花卉基地，村庄以竹文化、毛竹与花卉产业为依托发展乡村旅游。[1][2]

全村土地面积约18290亩，平均海拔约1100米。村域内有天湖顶湿地，三千亩连片的竹海与三百亩连片的花海。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄建在新开垦的田地上，故名新田。1958年设甘棠公社新田大队，1984年改设甘棠乡新田村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据2021年2月发布的介绍，全村共232户978人。[2]

经济[edit]

村里曾是扶贫开发重点村，因交通不便，山林与湿地资源开发有限。近年来以毛竹与花卉产业为主，发展以天湖、竹海与花海为依托的乡村旅游。[2]

文化[edit]

据2021年2月的介绍，村庄先后获得乡村振兴试点、特色旅游与美丽乡村示范等称号，并被列为「一村一品」示范村，又入选首批高级版「绿盈乡村」。[2]
