新田村位于桃溪镇西部，地势四面环山，村中溪流与水圳交错，全村总面积6717亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名来历：村子四周环山，中间有湖，溪流与水圳纵横交错，形如“田”字，初称“田湖里”，后改称“田里”，村名由此而来。[1]

公社化时期，村子单独成立新田大队，归属桃溪公社。1984年改设新田村委会，名称沿用至今。[1]
