新塘村位于桂圩镇，驻地有一口大塘，建行政村时取“崭新兴旺”之意定名新塘。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时新塘属桂河乡。1950年村归第一区，当时称龙峡行政村；1953年成立新塘乡，1958年组建新塘生产大队，1983年设新塘乡人民政府。[1]

1987年改成村委会，1989年一度为管理区，1999年复为村委会。[1]

产业[edit]

村内设有肉桂种植基地和加工厂，肉桂是镇内的主要特色作物之一。[2]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱卫会于2020年12月授予新塘村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。2022年6月，新塘村被命名为「第三批云浮市“民主法治示范村（社区）”」。[1]

2026年1月，新塘村获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」，并上榜「2025年广东省“美丽庭院”特色村」名单。[1]
